Holy moley — Planning an event for 100 people is a lot of work! And also sooooo rewarding!
In just three days I'm headed to the Menucha Retreat & Conference Center for the NW @songwritersoiree Retreat Winter 2023! Wheeee!
We're over sold out and I can see how much people want this sort of connection and space to live in these days. Yes. It's worth the thousands of hours I spend on google sheets to make it happen!

A moment of magic with the @everyoneorchestra on J

A moment of magic with the @everyoneorchestra on January 21 in Portland at the @albertarosepdx!
An All-star band of notable, musical wizards, playing a completely improvised set of music, conducted by maestro @mattvanbutler. I didn’t even meet the drummer (David Hagen) until after the show 😂.
As always, playing music, in this way to me, is music in its purest form… it’s all about being fully present, spontaneous, and just taking a leap of faith over and over again. As Bobby McFerrin says “improvisation is simply having the courage to go from one note to the next.”
This clip is a song I had the joy of starting, not knowing what was going to come out, and just starting to play and see what happens… and leading the genius of the band take it in different directions (like @asherfulero’s panty dropping piano Interlude).
