The Nest Retreat Center Accommodations
The NW Songwriter Soiree Summer Camp is very fortunate to be held at a unique and stunning private creative arts retreat center in Saint Helen’s, Oregon.
The center is a peaceful twenty-acre oasis nestled in the lush watershed of the Columbia River basin, an hour outside of Portland, OR. Home to old-growth cedar groves, majestic blue herons, wide-open meadows, and a bubbling creek, this sacred land nourishes the body, mind, and soul in every way.
In addition to the wonderful nature landscape, It offers a unique indoor/outdoor experience with wonderful camping spots, an indoor gathering space, retreat house, cabins, and more.
Tent and RV/Camper camping
(Tiered pricing $549 – $979)
The center offers an array of camping options for tents and trailers and Rv’s. Tent campers can choose to camp in the glorious camping meadow, or near the retreat house. The meadow is located a 2-4 min walk from the main are and is filled with wildflowers, a pond, birdsong, and gets lots of sunlight in the morning. The retreat house area is more shaded and near the sinks. There is also room for 10-15 campers and small RVs which can park in nooks and in the field (first come first serve).
A private, two-stall, outside shower and portable toilets are a short walk away and available to everyone who is camping. The bathhouse will also be available if it’s completed.

RETREAT HOUSE
The retreat house offers four bedrooms with a total of ten queen or full-sized beds throughout (double and triple options).
Each room is comfortably appointed with high-quality cotton bedding, duvets, bedside tables, closet space, pleasant lighting, ample windows, natural views, and colorful original artwork. Most rooms have places to sit and read and two rooms have balconies. There is heat and air conditioning throughout the house.
There are two full bathrooms in the retreat house on the first floor. Forest, Orchard, and Moon rooms are all on the first floor near the bathrooms, and the Sky room is upstairs.
There is a living room, reading nook, and two decks available for house staying guests.
Sky Room: 3 full beds + 3 single trundles ($879 – $899) Sold Out
A bright and freshly renovated 600-square-foot room on the second floor with large windows and a sliding glass door leading to a balcony overlooking the orchard. The Sky Room features three comfortable full beds with quality cotton bedding, duvets, bedside tables, 2 skylights, large closet space, luggage racks, a mirror, original artwork, a reading nook, and heat/AC. There are also 3 single trundles available. The bathroom is located on the floor below.
Forest Room: 2 queen beds ($1049) Sold Out
A cozy 250-square-foot, “cabin-y” room on the first floor with two windows, forest views, and tall wood ceilings located at the back of the house. The Forest Room features two comfortable queen beds with quality cotton bedding, duvets, a bedside table, a large closet space, a dresser, a mirror, original artwork, and heat/AC. The bathroom is located next to the room.
Orchard Room: 3 queen beds ($1049) Sold Out
A light and spacious 350-square-foot room with two large windows, tall wood ceilings, a sliding glass door leading to a deck, and a view of the orchard. The Orchard Room features three comfortable queen beds with quality cotton bedding, duvets, bedside tables, two closets, a mirror, original artwork, dresser, a reading nook, and heat and AC. The bathroom is located next to the room.
Moon Room: 2 full beds ($1049) Sold Out
A sweet 250-square-foot room on the first floor with two large windows, and an orchard view. The Moon Room features two comfortable full beds with quality cotton bedding, duvets, a bedside table, a large closet space, a dresser, a mirror, original artwork, and heat/AC. The bathroom is located next to the room and a reading nook is located directly across from the room.
CABINS
There are 4 small cabins at The Nest – two singles and two doubles. Each cabin is comfortably appointed with high-quality cotton bedding, duvets, fleece and wool blankets, bedside tables, dressers, hooks, luggage racks, a reading chair, windows, and colorful original artwork.
The cabins have heat and limited power, but no air conditioning.
A private, two-stall, outside shower and portable toilets are a short walk away and available to everyone in the cabins.
The Perch: 2 queen beds ($1049) Sold Out
A light-filled 250-square-foot cabin with tall ceilings and two large windows overlooking the meadow (the most spectacular view on the property!). The Perch Cabin features two comfortable queen beds with quality cotton bedding, duvets, fleece blankets, a desk, dresser, mirror, a large chair, hooks, and battery-operated solar lights. This room will be shared with another (you may request your bunkmate at registration or we will place you).
The Walnut Room: 2 queen beds ($1049) Sold Out
A private 150-square-foot room which is attached to our barn and nestled under our amazing Oak tree. It is quiet, and restful. The room has two large windows and a cozy vibe. The Walnut room features two comfortable queen beds with quality cotton bedding, duvets, fleece blankets, a desk, dresser, mirror, a large chair, hooks, and is fully lighted and heated. This room will be shared with another (you may request your bunkmate at registration or we will place you).
Heron Cabin: 1 queen bed ($1129) Sold Out
A private 150-square-foot cabin with tall ceilings, three small windows, and a platform loft with ladder access. The Heron Cabin features one comfortable queen bed with quality cotton bedding, duvet, fleece blanket, bedside tables, a desk, dresser, mirror, large chair, original artwork, hooks, and battery-operated solar lights. This is a single.
Hummingbird Cabin: 1 queen bed ($1129) Sold Out
A private 150-square-foot cabin with tall ceilings and three small windows. The Hummingbird Cabin features one comfortable queen bed with quality cotton bedding, duvet, fleece blanket, bedside tables, a desk, dresser, mirror, large chair, original artwork, hooks, and battery-operated solar lights. GLAMPING TENTS
($899 per bed) Sold Out
There are four 300-square-foot, high-quality, cotton, glamping bell tents at The Nest – Sumac, Elderberry, Comfrey, and Yarrow.
Each tent has two XL single beds comfortably appointed with high-quality cotton bedding, duvets, fleece and wool blankets, bedside tables, Moroccan poufs, luggage racks, reading chairs, and windows with screens at the top and along the base for beautiful views of nature.
The glamping tents do not have electricity, heat, or air conditioning. You will find solar and battery-powered lights in each tent, but they are quite dim. We recommend bringing a headlight and an external charger for your phone.
A private, two-stall, outdoor shower and portable toilets are a short walk away and available to everyone in the tents.
